The second single from the record, “Running”, was remixed and is available for your listening pleasure. The vibrant track bounces back and forth, the pace quick and the energy sustained throughout. The mood is neither happiness nor sadness, it’s just ecstatic music that is created to keep the body and mind moving. According to Sascha Ring (Apparat):

“‘Running’ is about being part of a mass. A mass that constantly needs to move to function, but one that’s not deciding directions by itself.”

They’ve also released the official music video for “Running.” The video begins in a graveyard of retired and gutted planes, in slow motion following a pilot who can only ‘keep on running.’

New video and single from Moderat: “Reminder”

Moderat (the combined forces of Aparat and Modeselektor) is well on their way to building up hype for their upcoming record, III. Earlier this year they released a teaser for the album, only 45 seconds of heart poundingly righteous beats and a list of stops on their 2016 tour. Now they’ve shared the first single off of III and it is everything Moderat fans could have dreamed of. In addition to releasing the single, “Reminder”, Moderat joined forces with SEHSUCHT Berlin, Pfadfinderei and longtime visual collaborator, Mate Steinforth to create a truly unique visual accompaniment to the track.

The idea behind the video was to use both gaming and virtual reality aesthetics to create a more intimate experience for viewers/listeners. In the video, the main character is a teenager who works day and night mining crystals to offer to an immortal being. Within the less than 3.5 minutes of the song, a captivating story unfolds. The haunting vocals, complex, layered and tribal percussion, and incredible build up during the chorus:

Burning bridges light my way

create a stunning piece of musical art.

Modeselektor + Apparat = Moderat: announce new album!

Moderat is the joint creative forces of  duo Gernot Bronsert, Sebastian Szary (Modeselektor) and Sascha Ring (Apparat). Together they’ve already released the first two of their trilogy and now have announced the release of the third and final installment. III will be out April 1st on Mute/Monkeytown and to satiate fans, they’ve released an album trailer:

III is an introspective collection of electronic pieces that spotlights Apparat’s lyrical abilities, offering listeners an intimate look into Sascha Ring. The scaffolding is the complex rhythms and sounds created by beatmakers, Modeselektor. This is the final chapter of Moderat’s trilogy, harnessing the work, creativity and experience of the trio’s time together which began years ago in Berlin. You can now pre-order III on iTunes.
