HÆLOS

Debut record from HÆLOS out today

HÆLOS has managed to develop a method to write, create and share their music in a way that gives the listener the ultimate music-listening experience. They bare their souls in their music allowing the listener to bare their own. And not only have they delivered stunning pieces of music but they have delivered them with perfectly procured visuals. In 2015, HÆLOS created Triptych, a trilogy of music, story and visual presentation. If you missed it, you should watch Parts I, II and III.

Today they release their debut record titled, Full Circle and are beginning their North American tour at SXSW. The last single they released from Full Circle was “Separate Lives”, a gorgeous piece that describes that moment when life or love tugs you on different paths. About the track the band said:

“’Separate Lives’ was one of the last songs we wrote for the record. We wanted it to be a nod towards some of our more gospel and Delta blues influences. It’s a reflection on the moment when you are choosing between staying or leaving and the underlying love that keeps you there. We liked that, it was simple and human and something we could all share experience in.”

New track and album announcement from HÆLOS

HÆLOS has been treating the world to one single at a time. They started us with a trilogy of tracks titled, Triptych which included “Earth Not Above”, “Pray” and “Dust.” Each track was accompanied by a unique video that captured its essence and emotion. Now HÆLOS has announced the release of their debut full length, Full Circle, which includes the tracks from Triptych and the latest single, “Oracle.”

HÆLOS draws their musical inspiration from the feelings, thoughts and images that come at the end of a long night. When the club music stops thumping the rhythm of your heartbeat. When the fantasy of the night comes to a halt and reality settles heavy on the soul. It is from this dark place that HÆLOS brings you their truly eccentric interpretation of pop, electronic and dance all merged into one sound.

Full Circle will be out March 18th on Matador Records and you can catch the trio touring now through April:

Parts II and III of HÆLOS three part music video series, “Triptych” are now available

Wrought with the most intense emotions, HÆLOS’ music seeks to ignite a more shadowed part of their listeners. According to the musicians, “Our songwriting process can be uncomfortable and sometimes painful,” say the band, “but we want to write evocative music that captures the spirit of what it means to be alive and human.” Staying true to the effort they put into this artistic endeavor, they have taken their music a step further. They’ve provided three high intensity music videos that add moving, living beings to the stories in their songs. You viewer dives into the complicated, violent and intimate world of the two characters, a young man and woman. You can make the connection between the fear, freedom, pain, joy, and desperation you hear in the vocals and lyrics and the fear, freedom, pain, joy and desperation you see in the characters. Below you can watch all three parts of “Triptych.”

HÆLOS is a London-based trio consisting of Arthur Delaney (vocals), Dom Goldsmith (vocals, production) and Lotti Benardout (vocals). The limited edition 12″, “PRAY/DUST”, will be out on December 4th on Matador Records.

Part I of HÆLOS’ video trilogy: “Earth Not Above”

“Earth Not Above” is a song about grief. The song and video are the sound and visual representation of grieving and the other emotions that come with, followed by the incredible release when one finally lets go. There is a moment in this song that is so beautifully captured in the video  where you can sense that moment of release, without a doubt. The music video was directed by Jesse Jenkins.

“Earth Not Above” is off of HÆLOS’ debut EP that came out on Matador May of this year and follows perfectly with the style that HÆLOS calls their own. This style wavers between darkness and euphoria, leaving a nook for every listener. Enjoy the video below:

This is as fresh as it gets: “The Sun Rising”, newest track by London group, HÆLOS.

I’ve been living in an alternate universe for the last few days visiting New Orleans for a conference. This track shook me back to reality and reality is beautiful, as is this track. Masterfully mixed and flawlessly fresh, “The Sun Rising” is a 5 minute musical trip that everyone needs to go on. At about 3:45, things converge, quiet, but then it all builds up to an even better place than it started.

HÆLOS is Arthur Delaney, Tom Goldsmith and Lotti Bernadout.

They all found each other in London and together, they create clean, pure and electronic sounds that wash over the body and soul. I hear pain and sadness in their music but it doesn’t bring me down, it lifts me up. This is unique and something I don’t think many can achieve. To layer darkness, love desperation and power in one musical piece is HÆLOS’ way. According to the band, “Our songwriting process can be uncomfortable and sometimes painful,” say the band, “but we want to write evocative music that captures the spirit of what it means to be alive and human (quote courtesy of Pitch Perfect PR).”

Only one track is available on iTunes currently, “Earth Not Above”, but you can you hear more at their Soundcloud page and can follow them more closely so you don’t miss a beat at their Facebook page and their official website. They are a young band and have incredible potential. Keep listening.
