YouTube Playlist: Sites and Sounds of Fall Volume II

It’s a big one! 29 tracks/videos waiting for your eyes and ears. Enjoy these tunes as the we shift from fall to winter:

Playlist: Spring and Summer Sounds Vol II

Here it is! Volume II – 30 songs deep and over 2 hours long. Hopefully you find something in there you like.

Gordi’s debut EP available digitally!

Gordi’s previous releases include a cover of Courtney Barnett’s “Avant Gardener” and Gordi’s original track, “Can We Work it Out.” In celebration of the release of her debut EP, Clever Disguise, Gordi has released the acoustic, piano version of “Can We Work it Out”, a stunning depiction of Gordi’s raw talent as a singer/songwriter. It’s just Gordi’s rich and smokey voice flying high above a gorgeous piano melody. There’s something more real about the piano version. Without the extra harmonies, percussion and sonic technologies the track is less of a pop anthem but something more heartbreaking in an absolutely beautiful way.

Gordi’s EP is available digitally right now via Jagjaguwar and can be found on iTunes and Amazon. The physical copy will be available May 27th and can be pre-ordered SCD.

New artist, Gordi, covers Courtney Barnett’s, “Avant Gardener”

Gordi is the musical moniker of young Australian singer, Sophie Payten. Over the last couple years, Payten has been building her musical repertoire, creating music in her dorm room in Sydney. Now decorated with triple j’s J Award and 2 FBi Radio SMAC Awards, she is part of the Jagjaguwar roster and will be releasing an EP this year.

Before the release of her upcoming EP, she has shared with us her rendition of fellow Australian, Courtney Barnett’s, track “Avant Gardener.” Gordi’s version is heavier, more melodic and simply beautiful. Compare and contrast the two versions yourself:

Ciao for Now (not a post about Rush…but you should read/listen on anyway)

It’s time for a little vacation again! What better way to kick it off than to see Rush…yep, they’re touring again! This will be my first time seeing these rock legends. This week (or I should say last weeks’ since I didn’t get the playlist up yesterday) playlist won’t feature any tracks by Rush but it does feature a whole lot of other awesome bands originating every where from LA to Cape Town, South Africa!

See you in a few days or next week, Music For Lunchers!
